The AVIC-S1 is the latest GPS product from Pioneer. The good thing? This personal navigation device is packed with a comprehensive US and Canda map data from Navteq, as well as over 1.5 million popular PoI (Points of Interest), including ATMs, gas stations, and restaurants. The data provided by Navteq is so detail that even the road segments can have as many as 160 different attributes! You can find outher whether the segment is a one way road, what’s the maximum speed restriction, etc. If that’s not enough, you can add more data map on the GPS, thanks to the availability of the built-in SD card slot.

The Pioneer AVIC-S1 GPS device itself features a large 3.5-inch touch LCD screen, both 2D and 3D views, voice guidance in three languages (English, Spanish, or French), and an intuitive Scroll Wheel to adjust the volume level of the guidance or scroll through the menu items. With the Bluetooth connectivity support, you can even use it as a handsfree device for your cell phone.

Pioneer’s AVIC-S1 GPS will be available in June for US $599. The package will be bundled with a mounting kit, cigarette lighter adapter, PC mini-USB cable, home charger and a carrying case.
