Samsung has unveiled the world’s thinnest 17-inch CDT (Color Display Tube) monitor under their SyncMaster range, the SyncMaster745MS model. At just 358mm thick, it’s 50mm thinner that its predecessor. According to the press release, the company hope that the launch of this monitor will lock their position as the display manufacturer leader in the world.

The CDT monitor itself employs a vital and pure coating technology which is able to generate helpful anionic ion (huh? WHT is that?) and far infrared ray continually even when it’s not being used. Don’t ask me what’s the effect of it, I don’t even know what it means. Apart from that ion thingy, the Syncmaster745MS also comes with an anti-virus, deodorization function, and all other good technologies from Samsung, including the Magic Bright Technology that automatically adjust brightness and contrast setting and the Highlight Zone Technology that automatically play video clip in brighter display.

Samsung SyncMaster745MS CDT Monitor will be available in China in May for 180,000 (KRW). A month after that, the global market can also taste this exclusive monitor.
