Pentax *ist DS2 digital camera sports a 6.1 megapixel CCD with 3008×2008 maximum resolution, a large 2.5-inch LCD with viewfinder, 12x total zoom, SD card slot (no onboard memory), PictBridge support, and a USB 2.0 interface. This light and portable D-SLR camera poorly doesn’t come with a video capture ability, one of the feature that already become a standard on any digital cameras nowadays. Measures 4.9 x 3.6 x 2.6 inches and weighs under 18 ounces, the *ist DS2 digital camera is retailed for around $750.00.

The Pentax *ist DS2 ($750 street, body only) may be the company’s newest digital SLR, but it falls well short of the standard set by its counterparts. Aside from a large LCD screen and its ability to run on double-A batteries, which is convenient, we didn’t find much to get excited about.
