Remember Thanko? It’s the Japanese manufacturer that brought you the innovative USB Slipper and the cool Japanese lamp-shaped USB Speaker. Their new product is not related to USB though, but instead, an iPod Nano competitor, the TPod Neo 1G.

This Portable Media Player (PMP) device offers 1.5-inch color LCD screen and 1GB of onboard memory. Not a word about memory expansion slot though, but one single GB of memory is quite enough for about 200 MP3 songs and one or two hours of movie. The TPod supports MP3 and WMA audio files, as well as MTV/AMX (384kbps) video files. Sounds unfamiliar with the format? Don’t worry, an encoding software is included in the package. It will help you convert your movie files with either AVI, MPEG, or WMV format, into that MTV/AMX format.

TPod Neo 1G PMP measures 90 x 40 x 8 mm and weighs 50 grams. Not sure about the price and availability.
