BenQ recently unveiled their new LCD TV model, the DV3253, that is WEEE-compliant. WEEE or Waste Electrical and Electronics Equipment directives is the European Community directive on waste electrical and electronic equipment which, together with the RoHS Directive, became European Law in February 2003, setting collection, recycling and recovery targets for all types of electrical goods. This eco-friendly 32-inch LCD TV comes with a HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) input, 800:1 contrast ratio, 1366×768 resolution, and 500 nits brightness.

According to their press release, BenQ DV3253 LCD TV will be available in Taiwan for NT$42,900 or around US$1,339. Another version, without HDMI and WEEE-compliant, is available for NT$39,900 (US$1246).
