Wilcom recently announced a data card for “Honda Navigation System”, that was first developed in 1997. The card provides an unlimited wireless data connection service to member of the “Navi Premium Club”, so users have to subscribe to the club first before they can take advantage of the card. The service itself will start in February 2006, but sorry, only in Japan.
The latest Honda Navi System featured a “wandering sensing device” with both visual and audible warnings, using information from the navigation system to detect any abnormal driving patterns like when falling asleep at the wheel. It will be available in a new model scheduled to annnounce this autumn. Another feature is “Inter Navi System”, an internet type two-way communication system.
