Sony Cybershot DSC-N1 Review

Steve’s Digicams has posted a review of Sony Cybershot DSC-N1 digital camera recently. This camera spots a wonderful 8 megapixel CCD sensor, Carl-Zeiss 3x optical zoom, and VGA (640×480) movie mode. It also offers a large 3.0″ touchscreen LCD (with viewfinders) which is wider than the standard 2.5″ on most cameras. DSC-N1 provides typical Auto and Program exposure modes for point-n-shoot simplicity, as well as 8 scene modes that are pre-programmed for various shooting environments. There’s also a full Manual mode that gives users more control over the exposure process, allowing them to choose Shutter speed and Aperture values. This digital camera comes with a 26MB of internal memory and can use any capacity Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick Pro Duo card up to 2GB.
I’m not a (digital) camera expert, but Sony’s Cybershot DSC-N1 sounds like a perfect digicam for me. I should highly consider this for my digital camera shopping list. Afterall, it only costs around $499, which is worth the money compared to the tons of good features it has.

The N1 is the most resolute consumer model we have seen thus far (11/2005), and I was pleased with its 8M Fine images. It offers various image adjustments for sharpness, contrast and saturation, which will allow you to “dial in” that certain look. The Carl Zeiss 3x optical zoom lens helped produce sharp images throughout its 38-114mm (35mm equivalent) range, which are virtually free from any signs of chromatic aberration. At full wide angle there is a moderate amount of barrel distortion, but not enough to cause any major problems with your subjects.
