Monitor Audio i-Deck Review

I don’t really like an iPod dock, so I only post here a dock that really unique or weird. This i-Deck from Monitor Audio, a British company, probably not quite unique, but this is the first time I saw an iPod dock with separate / satellite speakers (don’t bash me if you have seen it before, again, I’m not really into a dock).
According to the recent review by PCMag, Monitor Audio i-Deck provides very good sound quality and enough power for everyday use. Another advantage is that the distortion is low even at maximum volume. However, parts of the treble range sound distant and no tone controls available.
An excerpt from the review:
The British company Monitor Audio, known for its excellent high-end loudspeakers since the early 1970s, has developed a bookshelf-size digital music system specifically for the Apple iPod. The Monitor Audio i-Deck ($349 direct) is not a portable speaker system, and as a three-piece audio system it’s in a different class from the single-cabinet Bose SoundDock. We took the i-Deck for a test drive and found that in speaker design and sound quality, it lives up to the Monitor Audio, especially considering its compact size.
