Skype for Windows v1.4.0.84 is released. The new version mainly fixes some bugs, so it’s highly recommended to upgrade your Skype version.

Skype itself is a VoIP client software that enable telephone conversations via the Internet. Calls to other Skype users are free as well as calls to regular telephone and mobile telephone numbers all over the world are at a low rate. Apart from that, Skype also able to act like a normal instant messenger software, by sending a text message to other Skype users around the world in real time.

• Bug fix: fixed certain Skype calls that were vulnerable to buffer overflow
• Bug fix: Skype ring sound never stopped when call was automatically answered
• Bug fix: user’s avatar disappears after they are logged in continiously for 7 days
• Bug fix: problems with handling Skype usernames that did not start with a letter
• Bug fix: Skype passwords were occasionally not remembered during first login
