Buddy Bear PhoneThis is so cute. I though it was another cute cameras, but not. This is a phone, a real working mobile phone. But designed especially for children, ranged from 3 ~ 10 years.

The Buddy Bear Phone is really design for kid. First, it doesn’t have a display. Second, it can only dial preprogrammed numbers, for example their parents’ cell phone numbers. So does the messaging feature. Only preset SMS may be sent to four preset recipients.

However, the design is really cute. Well, since it was designed was kids, it should have a cute one. Who’s gonna use it if it has a scary form like the Krypt Kiddies. Anyway, the four bear’s paws are used as buttons to dial the four preset contacts. At the bottom, there are power cable, headset, and USB connections. In its ear, there’s a LED which begin flashing when its called.

In the time of emergency, the kids can press the SOS button on the side of the bear’s head. When the bear gets low on battery, the parent gets an SMS. They can also monitor them by simply dialing the bear and listen to it. And since the kid doesn’t have to answer the phone, it could be a good remote monitoring device, especially for babbies.

The phone is either remotely programmed from another mobile handset or via the USB cable. Buddy Bear’s distibutors also say that the handset has a very low SAR rating and is paint-free for added safety. The dual band simplified cell phone retails for around 130 Euros.
