Stars From Mars Fibre-Optic StarfieldRemember the HomeStar I wrote about a month ago? That wonderful device able to turn your room into a virtual planetarium by projecting thousands of stars onto your ceiling. Now there’s another alternative to it - the Stars From Mars.

Not just it has a cool name, this device also has a cool feature. The Stars From Mars Fibre-Optic Starfield contains 300 optical fibres that can turn your ceiling into the evening sky. ‘Just’ mount the illuminator in your attic space, and then insert each of the 30ml fibres into holes to poke through the ceiling. A dab of silicon secures each fibre, which can be cut flush to the surface of your ceiling. You can then create constellations or just scatter stars around the room. The entire unit can be dimmed for adjustable atmosphere, and it comes equipped with a colour wheel to produce various fibre-optic effects.

I’m thinking of watching a romantic movie with my girlfriend, in the dark living room, with thousand of stars on the ceiling. Now that would be so damn romantic, don’t you think so?
