Honestly, I’ve just heard about this Ambilight TV thing. According to Philips, this TV is based on the Ambilight (Ambient Light) Technology, which is a unique theater lighting system that adjusts both brightness and color based upon picture content. Integrated into the television cabinet, Ambient Light Technology enables your eye to see more picture detail, contrast and color while eliminating on-screen reflections for a better and more immersive viewing experience.

In Korea Electronics Show 2005, Philips displays the new upgraded version of their Ambilight TV. The previous one (which I’ve never heard of) is using one color lightning, while the new model lights two colors from both right and left side of the unit based on the various colors of picture contents.

This model also features ‘Pixel Plus’ technology which increases the number of pixel and lines of resolution for better image quality.
