Softphone’s Dual-Mode Calling Support on Windows Mobile Device

CiceroPhoneAs reported by WindowsForDevice, Cicero Networks has launched a converged softphone that supports VoWiFi/cellular dual-mode calling on a range of Windows Mobile devices. CiceroPhone enables fixed-line operators and alternative service providers to offer enterprise and residential customers cost-effective wireless VoIP services, according to the company.

VoWiFi is a Wi-Fi based VoIP service. Where VoIP consists of the hardware and software.html that enables people to use the Internet as the transmission medium for telephone calls, VoWiFi is the wireless version of this technology which is designed to work on wireless devices such as a laptop or PDAs. According to the company, CiceroPhone is an “easy-to-use, highly intuitive” softphone that makes it very simple for end-users to make and receive both WiFi and cellular calls. It also supports Instant Messaging (IM), local-address book integration, and advanced calling features such as call forwarding and call waiting.
