Ultimate Solar Charger from Kleinfeld

A jeweler and entrepreneur, Roland Kleinfeld, has designed a mobile phone charger that uses solar energy. Called Ultimate Solar Charger, it looks like a cellular phone, but if you flip it, you’ll find the solar panels. The body of the solar charger contains the battery pack, which can hold adequate charge for up to 14 days.
According to the press release, the idea of the Ultimate Solar Charger came while Kleinfeld was having a vacation in Shenzen, China. “I saw lots of garden light products and camping lights running on solar energy. At the same time, I was on my cell phone talking to an associate, when my cell phone battery died during a very important moment–don’t they always? How ridiculous in this day and age to have a cell phone battery die on you with all the technology the world possesses!”
Well, it sounds like he’s the person who give birth to mobile phone solar charger product. But of course, he’s not. Many have come out before the Ultimate, like the one from Vodafone - which I think has a unique design - and Soldius 1.
The Kleinfeld’s solar charger, retailed for $24.95, said to be compatible with most cell phones, including over 30 Nokia models, 20 Ericsson models, 14 Motorola/Nextel models, and 8 Seimens models.
