Turn Your House into Planetarium

HomeStar - The Home PlanetariumImagine yourself laying in the ground and watching the stars in the sky. Relaxing, isn’t it? Now you don’t have to go outdoor to enjoy the sky. Segatoys is selling a round shaped electronic device with an optical lens, called “Homestar, the 21st Century Home Planetarium“. This device able to project a night sky filled with approximately 10,000 stars!

To turn your house or room into planeterium, simply place the Homestar at about 2 meters from the ceiling or the wall, plug it, turn the switch on and take the lens cap off. Here you go. Thousand of stars on your ceiling. To make it feel like night time outdoor, just turn off your room light.

Takanawa Prince Hotel, in Japan, has acquired some Homestars, and now offering rooms where you can see the stars. Several packages are available: for couples (17,500 yen), stressed women (”Healing Plan” package - 20,000 yen), and for students who prepare for exams (”Make Your Wish on a Star” package - 17,000 yen). Prices are per person, per night at a double room. The Homestar price itself is 20,790 yen, so I guess it’d be cheaper if you just go buy the toy, rather than staying at the hotel.
