14 Hours Dilemma
Sponsored Links
If you came here yesterday, you’ll get 403 forbidden message. Yes, the whole FunPonsel Network (funponsel.com) has been down for about 14 hours. The main cause is, according to my webhosting’s support, my account has reached their resource limit :p
Actually, since 2 weeks ago, I’m testing a new service for FunPonsel Network. My webhosting gives an unlimited bandwidth and unlimited disk space, so I guess, why not setting up a file sharing service? And it’s there, fileshare.funponsel.com.
Then I asked several friends of mine to use it (and promote it) whenever they need to share large file. For the first week, everything works fine. But entering the second week, the server started to slow down. Looks like there were many people downloading from my file sharing service. The peak was yesterday. I got “max database connection limit reached - too many users connected to database” (something like that) and *poof*, 15 minutes later, the whole site down :p
It took 14 hours to bring the site back. My webhosting’s support is helpful, it’s just they live in the different time zone. If I’m not wrong, when the site was down, it was midnight at their place. That’s why there’s 14 hours delay. The real process to resurrect my site was only 2.5 hours.
Btw, there’s an interesting fact. During the downtime, my site stats recorded around 100+ visits, and so did my AdSense stats. I still got some clicks too. Really strange. But I assume they visit it through Google cache or something. Maybe.
