Couple weeks after the London Blast tragedy, Refresh Media, an online marketing company, comes up with TextOK. This service allow everyone (British mobile users) to quickly contact their relatives, especially during disasters, and let them know that he/she is okay.
Before you can use this service, you have to register your phone number and then adding a list of your friends and family email address. Next, you only need to send an “OK” text message to 60999, and TextOK will send email to all of the people on your list to tell them that you’re safe. It’s not free, the cost is 25p (about 45 cents), but all the profit will go toward Cancer Research UK, Friends of the Earth & NCH (The Children’s Charity) with the aim of raising £100,000 ($178,000).
